Previously, whenever the quantum threat was mentioned, the Bitcoin community typically fell into two camps: either wait for network upgrades (which could take years), or accept controversial issues like coin freezing. But the reality is, the risk isn't far off a large portion of current Bitcoin could be attacked if sufficiently powerful quantum computers emerge. I find @quipnetwork strength lies in its different approach. It doesn't touch the Bitcoin core, doesn't fork, and doesn't require users to transfer their assets anywhere. Instead, they build an additional layer running on top of Bitcoin (Layer 2), allowing you to upgrade security directly within your wallet. The way they do this is by using cryptographic signatures (like WOTS+) and attaching them directly to Bitcoin via a smart contract layer. It's technically sophisticated, but simply put: you still hold the same BTC, but the underlying security key has been replaced with a quantum resistant version. The best price adjustment is: No third option needed. No need to change the Bitcoin network. And importantly, it can be used immediately, without waiting 5–10 years. In short, this is like a third way out: not as extreme as freezing the coin, nor passively waiting for upgrades. If quantum computing truly arrives sooner than predicted, then solutions like this could be something that allows you to sleep a little more soundly. #quip
