Pepe is the DNA of internet culture 🐸
Listen my frens, When you talk about culture related to the internet, you have to consider every layer of it.
And when you take the entire internet into account, there’s no way you can deny Pepe
To skip the unnecessary buildup, to the point ~ Pepe is the firstborn child of the internet
Since 2008, its popularity has grown wildly, embedding itself deeply in the language of online people. In the most accelerated cultural era of human history, where new memes are born and die daily; Pepe has somehow stayed alive and loved.
Matt Furie created Pepe but it didn’t take long before remix culture transformed him into the shared language of the nerd world. 4chan, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, stickers, posters, backgrounds, characters, politics, parties, laws, hate, love blaw blaw blaw ~ Pepe touched them all and left a distinct mark.
To me, every manifestation of Pepe is a pulse of living culture, elastic, reflective and endlessly adaptive.
When RAREPEPE, that mythical moment, arrived, it was Pepe that first gathered people around the concept of network art and memes
leading to the creation of the Rare Pepes Directory...
Internet culture is fundamentally intertwined with Pepe and so is the culture of Web3.
You simply can’t talk about culture without mentioning Pepe.
Pepe carries an intrinsic value that anyone can adapt to their own voice and that makes him the most powerful cultural object the internet has ever produced..
If you can, change my mind..
